Simultaneous access refers to the fact that a system is accessed by two or more systems, data streams and/or external users.
For example, a microprocessor that has a single core cannot be accessed by two commands at the same time (simultaneously), therefore multitasking must be simulated.
Simultaneous access to any system must be rigorously controlled, as it can cause inconsistencies and serious problems in its operation.
