Definition of Internet Service Provider

An internet service provider (or ISP in English) is a company dedicated to offering internet connection services to users.

The first internet service provider was Telenet launched in 1974, which was the first commercial version of The ARPANET network.The first internet service provider as we know it today was The World, which began offering its service in 1989.
