(formerly called Simple Sharing Extensions).FeedSync are RSS and Atom extensions for data synchronization via feeds. It differs from these two by allowing bidirectional information.
Initially it was developed by Ray Ozzie, software architecture chief of Microsoft, although it is currently maintained by a larger group of people. The FeedSync specification is licensed under Creative Commons, which allows its use and modification to any company or person.
It allows, for example, to modify from a client (such as an RSS reader) the information of a feed and will be reflected on the server.
FeedSync is used by Microsoft in Live Mesh.
